The Artist
Kathryn Fletcher is a Sydney artist working in oils and watercolour. Her subjects range from the iconic ocean baths of Sydney's coastline to the warm-walled streets of southern Europe, each painting a meditation on place and light.
Her first series explored the luminous quality of reflected light in watercolour — hotel facades, birds and cats glimpsed in moments of repose. In her current series she has moved into oils, working from favourite photographs to find new depth and richness of colour. She also paints portraits and welcomes pet commissions.
